Food for thought: God Has Chosen Us Since Creation

Hello everyone, and welcome back. We appreciate you coming back for the update this week and month as we continue to grow and study His word.

Before our birth, before our conception, before our parents met, and before the creation of the world, God chose us and had us in mind. He already knew us by name, and He had claimed each of us as His.

"just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,"

(Ephesians 1:4)

"“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;

Before you were born I sanctified you;

I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

(Jeremiah 1:5)

He loved us before we could be loved by anyone else and already had a plan to redeem and restore us through Jesus Christ. He knitted us into our mother's wombs and fearfully and wonderfully created each of us to be unique and special to Him.

"“Listen, O coastlands, to Me,

And take heed, you peoples from afar!

The Lord has called Me from the womb;

From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name."

(Isaiah 49:1)

"See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;

Your walls are continually before Me."

(Isaiah 49:16)

We are God's masterpiece created and called to do good works which He has prepared for us to do in advance. Plan for all the days of our life to bring us to His Kingdom and give us a future of Joy and peace. He knows everything about us and everything we will do before our conception.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

(Jeremiah 29:11)

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

(Ephesians 2:10)

Therefore, since God has created us and called each of us into existence, we are the very reflection of God's nature because He created us in His image. Thus, since we are a reflection of God, our lives are precious and are purposed to praise and do good by Him for His Kingdom.

"This means from the womb to the tomb we are to live in a relationship with our Creator father. Because He knit us together in the womb, He knows our temper, dreams, weaknesses, and strengths. He created us on purpose for a purpose. He also knows that we need to rely on Him to be free of sin. Because He knows the very hairs on your head (Matthew 10:29-31) , we need to understand that even the smallest details of our lives matter to Him. Every small action matters just as much as every big action. Because we are the apple of His eye, we ought to live our lives in a way that honors Him in word and deed! Truly we are fearfully and wonderfully made. How incredible to know and be known by God—and to marvel at His love for each of us from the beginning to eternity" (Did God Really Know Me Before I Was Born? (Jeremiah 1:5) (christianity.com). Just some food for thought...

"O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them."

(Psalm 139:1-16)

Weekly Devotional: I Have Loved You

God has loved you with an everlasting love. Before time began, He knew you. For years you swam around in a sea of meaninglessness, searching for love, hoping for hope. All that time He was pursuing you, aching to embrace you in His compassionate arms.

When the time was right, the Lord revealed Himself to you. He lifted you out of that sea of despair and set you down on a firm foundation. Sometimes you felt naked - exposed to the revealing light of His Presence. He wrapped an ermine robe around you: His robe of righteousness. He sang you a love song, whose beginning and end are veiled in eternity. The Lord infused meaning into your mind and harmony into your heart. Together you will draw others out of darkness into His marvelous light.

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;

Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you."

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,

My soul shall be joyful in my God;

For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."

(Isaiah 61:10)

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;"
