Volume 2022: Edition 5
Food for thought: God Does Not Abandon
Hello everyone, and welcome back. We are slowly getting back into the swing of things, so thank you for your continued patience. We appreciate you coming back for the update this week and month as we continue to grow and study His word.
Much like walking into a humane society full of abandoned animals, our world is full of abandoned people. People cast aside, lost, broken, scared, and alone. People who feel that they have no place in the world, that they are forgettable and unwanted. However, God, our father, has a place for all of us in His kingdom. He has a room reserved just for us and an unchangeable and uncontainable love for each and every one of us. God adopts not abandons. He does not abandon His children no matter the sin, the fear, the brokenness, or how lost we may feel.
He did not abandon mankind after Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. He did not abandon Noah and his family in the flood. He did not abandon Abraham amongst his trials. He did not abandon the Jewish slaves in Egypt. He did not abandon His people in the dessert. He did not abandon the judges, prophets, or kings He appointed. He did not abandon His own son on the cross. He is with us through it all. He suffers with us and rejoices in us. We only need to accept Him and His unending love and not be afraid to give Him every part of us. Every sin, every fear, every success, and every joy in our life. What we give to Him, He makes new and good, and if we give ourselves completely, we are adopted into His kingdom and the old us that the world abandoned and rejected is made new and given a home. Just some food for thought...
"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
(John 14:2-4)
"Persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh"
(1 Corinthians 4:9-11)

Weekly Devotional:
God's Voice
Listen to the love song that God is continually singing to you. He takes great delight in you and rejoices over you with singing. The voices of the world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling you this way and that. Don't listen to those voices; challenge them with His word. Learn to take minibreaks from the world, finding a place to be still in the Lord's presence and listen to His voice.
There is immense hidden treasure to be found through listening to God. Though He pours out blessings upon you always, some of His richest blessings have to be actively sought. He loves to reveal Himself to you, and your seeking heart opens you up to receive more of His disclosure.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
(Matthew 7:7)
"The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
(Zephania 3:17)
Verse of the Week:
"Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice."
(1 Kings 19:11-12)
