Volume 2022: Edition 4
Food for thought: Start Your Day with Jesus
Hello everyone, and welcome back to a new year with us. We are slowly getting back into the swing of things, so thank you for your continued patience. We appreciate you coming back for the update this week and month as we continue to grow and study His word.
As someone who has problems sticking to a routine, it is a constant struggle to remind myself to do simple things such as flossing, washing my face, and praying right when I wake up. For many of us when we wake up, we check the time, get on our phone, then make a long list (mentally or physically) of things we have to get done in the day and off we go. We are so wrapped up in our little world and all the little things we want to control that we don't give time to the one who can guide us through our day and take control of all the parts of our lives.
It is important for us as followers of Christ to develop a Godly routine to set our lives upon. When we spend our days without Him, we rely on the unstable ways of this world to navigate our lives. We start our days in fear and anxiety to what is to come in our days with our eyes focused on what we have to do, have to gain, or how we should be. We put all the burden on ourselves. With this as our foundation, rather than the unchanging word of God, we set ourselves up for pain and unfulfillment. It is only God who is the sturdy rock in which we can rely our days on. It is through Him that we can fill our days with joy, peace, and purpose.
But how do we start this Godly routine? Start your days with prayer. Spend some time when you wake up and when you go to sleep to give thanks to God for the day He has given to you. Dig into his word through a devotional, though we only offer one in these newsletters, there are many devotional books you can acquire to spend a quick five to ten minutes in His word. Let the Holy Spirit guide you through your day and take control over the decisions you have to make. Listen to a Christian-based podcast or radio station, start a worship playlist, or download a scripture app on your phone for those times you are on your phone or need a pick me up. And most importantly, live with love as the guiding principle of your life. Just some food for thought...
We are grateful to have you with us as readers, church members, and interested guests and we are always open to any suggestions and volunteers for our website, newsletter, and future activities. We hope to see you at our Sunday services and stay tuned for our coming newsletters and updates at church, at bible study, on Facebook, on the Wix-App, and on the website weekly!

Weekly Devotional:
Find God in Your Day
God is calling you to a life of constant communion with Him. Basic training includes learning to live above your circumstances, even while interacting on that cluttered plane of life. You yearn for a simplified lifestyle so that your communication with Him can be uninterrupted. But He challenges you to relinquish the fantasy of an uncluttered world. Accept each day just as it comes and find God in the midst of it all.
Talk to Him about every aspect of your day, including your feelings. Remember that your ultimate goal is not to control or fix everything around you; it is to keep communing with Him. A successful day is one in which you have stayed in touch with God, even if many things remain undone at the end of the day. Do not let your to-do list become an idol directing your life. Instead, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you moment by moment and He will keep you close.
