Volume 2021: Edition 7
Food for thought: The Miracle of Christmas
Hello everyone, and welcome back. We apologize for the missed updates these past couple of months our website designer came down with covid. we appreciate you coming back for the update this week and month as we continue to grow and study His word.
These past couple of months have tested our church family and have shown us just how important it is to let God lead the way...
As we get ready for Christmas and families gather together to celebrate with gifts, food, and family gatherings all across the world; we must reflect on the question why?
We must remember that this holiday we all love and cherish isn't about the gifts, the food, the lights but the true gift, the miracle of the birth of our Lord who was given to this world 2000 years ago. The day God became man and shined He's light on mankind side by side...
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1-5
We have seen loss and felt the heartache and pain these past couple of months as a church family and as individuals...but in our individual pain, struggles, and darkness there was a bright light over the horizon. A light that many doubted. A light that was so bright that it shined and touched so many people from not only our church family but from families and friends far and wide...but also churches across this country. strangers that we encountered on the street, on social media, from people passing along to others, God shined when we felt we were in darkness...
As we all celebrate the greatest gift we could ever receive in His Son, God gave us a miracle this Christmas...A Christmas miracle in dark times.
We know her as Taylor, the young Woman who designed this website, who poured out her heart into this site and the words she typed down. But in late October, Taylor came down with covid and had a fight of a lifetime... As our church lost the elder of our church, our dear sister Eva Lopez and her beautiful daughter Dianne; Taylor was hospitalized and about to have the fight of her life.
Now as for me (the writer) I can not lie, doubt, fear, weakness, and my faith felt as it was torn away. Her fight tested all who know her and tested us all in our own special and painful way...
For 35 days now she has fought and as I write this to you all, Today she is in rehab and is getting a day closer to going home. To tell this story is going to take many people far and wide to give their testimonies; because this story is too big for one person. But I will tell you now, Never doubt in the power of prayer. Never doubt His Grace. His Love. His Power. His Glory. His Mercy. His comfort. He is the Great Healer and Surgeon and God used every Doctor, every Nurse, and every medicine that was put on her path.
Over the next few newsletters, you will hear this amazing story and I pray that in the comments you all share your stories. This Christmas miracle is so Amazing! as I write this, I can not believe what I have seen with my own eyes. But God broke down a wall that NO doctor, no nurse, no medicine could do...He showed me (the writer) almost like He said "watch what I can do!" and Our Lord, Our Savior, Our Creator saved the one...like the story of the 99, God showed me (the writer) He wants us all and He will do what He has to, to save the one.
So my food for thought is, do you believe in miracles? if not, go to your secret place and speak with Him and ask Him to soften your soul, to open your eyes, to let your ears hear, and for you to wait on...
He says,"Be still, and Know that I am God;"
PSALM 46:10

Weekly Devotional:
Wait on the Lord for a while, for he has much to tell you. You are walking along the path He has chosen for you. It is both a privileged and a perilous way: experiencing His glorious Presence and heralding that reality to others. Sometimes you feel presumptuous to be carrying out such an assignment.
Do not worry about what other people think of you. The work the Lord is doing in you may seem hidden at first. But eventually blossoms will burst forth, and abundant fruit will be born. Stay on the path of Life with Him. Trust in God wholeheartedly, letting His spirit fill you with Joy and Peace.
"and he said: 'Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.'"
(1 Kings 8:23)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
(Galatians 5:22-23)
Verse of the Week:
I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt. We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.
(Psalms 123)
